Nainativu (nagadeepa) is a small island of 10 km stretch in jaffna, sri lanka. travelling to nainativu island (nagadeepa in sinhala) is possible by land route and then by the motor boats. nainativu is a hot sandy island and gets itsrain during the months of november till january.. I belive the navy should operate these boat or ferry services as they do the canal boat service and whale/dolphin watching service. the boat trip ends at the nainativu jetty ,all disembark and walk about 100-150 meters to the nagadeepa vihara.there were large numbers of worshippers & pilgrims at the time..
